Spain

Whether it’s partying the night away in Ibiza, traipsing the streets of bustling Barcelona or scrunching your toes in the sand on a Balearic Island, Spain has so much to offer. For us, Spain is a place with fond memories – a summer hideaway for James’ family as they escaped the madness of London each year during his childhood, spending their days basking in the sun and chowing down on chorizo as they wiled away their holidays. It’s also where we’ve spent time with friends, stumbling across hole-in-the-wall bars in Barcelona or marveling at the soaring buildings in Madrid.

Whatever your travel style, Spain doesn’t disappoint. We’d argue it has some of the most stunning scenery in Europe and even further afield, as the Canary island of Tenerife boasts a volcanic landscape including the famed Mount Teide, the third largest volcanic structure on the globe! It undoubtedly has beautiful beaches as well as a range of cosmopolitan cities – of course Barca and Madrid, but also Seville, Valencia and even Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage City bursting with culture.

And, of course, there is the food. Slow food has a real home in Spain, and many hours can be spent at the dinner (or breakfast or lunch) table, sharing tapas and groaning in delight at delicacies like patatas bravas, diving into heaving bowls of paella or snacking on sugary snacks like churros.

The crux? Spain is a must-visit destination in Europe, whatever you might be looking for. With some of the most iconic landmarks, picturesque villages and fun-filled festivities, you won’t go in La Piel de Toro; a magical country you must see at least once in your lifetime.
